Key Collaborators: Implemented by HRIDAY in partnership with Beyond Type 1, UDAAN (Aurangabad), the Madras Diabetes Research Foundation (MDRF, Chennai), and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS, New Delhi).
Geographic Focus: The project focused on vulnerable and marginalized populations in Delhi NCR, Aurangabad, and Chennai.
Major Achievements:
- Governance & Co-creation: Established a two-tiered governance structure consisting of a Wisdom Council for strategic guidance and a Scientific Council for technical oversight and medical accuracy.
- Community Conversations (CCs): Conducted qualitative consultations in all three sites to understand everyday challenges, myths, and stigma, ensuring that interventions were rooted in lived experiences.
- Resource Development: Co-developed culturally resonant and multilingual (Hindi, Marathi, and Tamil) resources, including a Diabetes Manual, thematic posters, infographics, audio-visual reels, and wall paintings.
- Impact and Outreach: Reached an estimated 530,000 individuals through on-ground activities like street plays and wellness sessions, and achieved over 1,065,000 digital impressions.
- Ambassador Network: Strengthened a network of over 200 Lived Experience Ambassadors, integrating them into leadership and advocacy roles to drive the movement forward
