Objectives
To pilot a model for enhanced diabetes care in rural Indian communities through the empowerment of ASHAs (Accredited Social Health Activists) /ANMs (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) /MPWs (Multi-Purpose Workers) & MOs (Medical Officers)
Methodology
- HRIDAY in collaboration with PHFI, undertook data collection at baseline and end line [in the intervention and control group (excluding clinical, biochemical, and anthropometric measurements were done by CDI using Mobile Diabetes Clinics)].
- Survey with ASHA/ANM/MPW, MOs was administered under the supervision of team members from HRIDAY and PHFI.
- Surveys with Diabetic participants – Following IDRS training, ASHAs referred patients with IDRS scores of 60 or more to the mobile diabetes clinic.
