The Global Empathy in Healthcare Network invites abstract submissions for workshops, oral presentations, and posters at the Rehumanising Healthcare in a Divided World symposium. This event will bring together healthcare professionals, educators, researchers, and policymakers to explore how empathy, compassion, and person-centred care can bridge divisions in healthcare and society.

Themes

We welcome submissions related (but not limited) to:

• Empathy in clinical practice and medical education
• Innovative approaches to teaching and assessing empathy
• The role of empathy in reducing health inequalities
• Supporting healthcare professionals’ well-being through empathy
• Patient perspectives on empathy and compassionate care
• Cross-cultural and interdisciplinary perspectives on humanising healthcare
• Technology and its impact on empathic healthcare

Submission Guidelines

• Abstracts should be a maximum of 300 words
• Clearly indicate your preferred format: Workshop, Oral Presentation, or Poster
• Workshops should be interactive and practical, with clear learning objectives
• Oral presentations and posters should present research, innovations, or case studies relevant to the symposium themes

• Notification of Acceptance: 7 May 2025
• Early Bird Booking Deadline: 16 May 2025
• Symposium Dates: 15–16 September 2025
