Building support for the implementation of large pictorial health warnings on tobacco products packs through youth advocacy-World No Tobacco Day

Methodology

• The Pan-India competition was organized for the students of classes VI – XII with the intent to raise awareness about the importance of effectiveness of pictorial health warnings on tobacco products and warning people about the dangers of tobacco use.
• The competition required students to draw packs with pictorial health warnings, they consider most appropriate and effective in warning about the ill-effects of tobacco use.
• On the World No Tobacco Day, May 31 2016, a walkathon was organized from Nirman Bhawan to Udyog Bhawan Metro station to raise awareness on ill effects of tobacco
