Objectives
To assess the effectiveness of an intensive 17 session yoga intervention (once a week for 4 months and finally a refresher session) in adolescents studying in grades VIII – X (~ aged 13-15 years) in north (Delhi) and south (Chennai) India in a school-based setting on:
- Stress levels: stress scale and salivary cortisol levels
- Metabolic parameters: body weight, WC, pulse rate, body fat, BP
- Adoption of healthy lifestyle behaviours: diet and PA
- Attention span and concentration using a cognitive psychometric test called the Letter Cancellation Test (LCT)
