Objectives
- To study the intra-personal, socio-contextual and environmental determinants of ENDS use among school-going adolescents (grades 8, 9 and 11) in three urban Indian cities
- To study the correlates of actual ENDS use, intentions and susceptibility to use ENDS among these adolescents
- To study the challenges and opportunities for scaling-up action to control ENDS.
Results
Overall, 41% of students surveyed were from New Delhi, 34% from Ahmedabad, and 25% from Hyderabad. Results showed that about 84 students (4.2%) were ever ENDS users and 137 (6.8%) intended to use ENDS in the future. Multiple individuals, socio-contextual and environmental factors are associated with ENDS use among Indian adolescents.
