About HRIDAY
HRIDAY is a not-for-profit organization that aims to promote sustainable health, particularly among youth, in multiple settings including schools, colleges, workplaces, and the community at large. HRIDAY engages in multi-disciplinary research, capacity building and undertakes campaigns linked to the prevention and control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs). HRIDAY addresses NCDs from a health and development perspective, particularly in the context of Goal 3.4 under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Job Description
The Communication Officer plays a crucial role in facilitating effective communication and providing technical support within the organization. This role involves a combination of technical expertise and strong communication skills to ensure smooth coordination and dissemination of information. Under the supervision of Executive Director and Senior Director the Communication Officer will undertake the following responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage organization’s social media handles/pages on a day-to-day basis, with an aim to maximize outreach and stakeholder engagement.
- Work with the Programmes and Research teams to develop and implement an effective communications strategy based on the target audience and stakeholders.
- Develop, edit, and distribute content, including publications, press releases, website content, annual reports, social media content, and other materials that communicate the organization’s activities, products, and/or services on a day-to-day
- Write and optimize content for the website, digital newsletters, print publications, and social networking sites.
- Ensure consistency in terms of voice, branding, messaging, and frequency of posting via digital channels.
- Develop and deliver well-executed and effective campaigns.
- Develop working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and partners.
- Use project planning techniques to deliver projects and actively manage project budgets.
- Make presentations at national, sub-national, and international conferences and similar events.
- Prepare papers and presentations on research progress and outcomes, as per the direction from the Supervisor.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in public health or equivalent degree in Communication.
- A minimum of 2-3 years’ relevant experience in public health, specifically in Non-Communicable Diseases, is desirable.
- Proficiency with basic computer programs including MS Office, Canva and database systems.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Prior experience is desirable. However freshers are also encoreged to apply.
