The purpose of this manual is to assist in the implementation and enforcement of the country’s laws on tobacco control and to act as a source of legal information for all stakeholders engaged in controlling the use of tobacco. For tobacco control legislation to be effective, information about the laws and the need for their enforcement must be reiterated not only with the enforcement officials, but equally with the public, business establishments, and tobacco vendors alike. The game intends to make the children understand various environmental problems and also make them aware of possible solutions.It addresses the main environmental factors that affect health in the three settings where children live,learn and play: Home, School and Community. AROGYA IEC 2022 | Diabetes Awareness and Prevention Education Peer Leader Manual Year 1 (ENGLISH)

This is a two-year peer-led program with compelling age-appropriate activities designed for students in Class VI and VII. The aim is to encourage the adoption of increased physical activity and healthy eating habits in school children so that they can prevent or delay diabetes later in life. A pilot done in 2000 children in private schools and government schools in Delhi with HRIDAY in 2011-2013 showed significant public health impact. Since then the program has been adapted to rural South India with Agastya International Foundation and has been implemented among thousands of school children. Read More

Large Pictorial Health Warnings Work

Pictorial health warnings (PHWs) are the most effective way of communicating ill effects of tobacco use, particularly among those with low literacy or no formal education. In a country like India, where one-third of the population isi illiterate, pictorial health warnings communicate health messages effectively and can influence decisions. Large and effective PHWs discourage non-users, particularly youth, from starting, encourage current users to stop and prevent relapse of those who have already quit.
